I recently ordered a bike from here. What was to take 5 days to arrive took double that. The bike arrived and I'm over the moon with it, the guy who handed it over to me was really helpful. However, I think all the staff need to take a leaf out of his book. The staff can be quite sharp in their tone, I've been back since to purchase other stuff and I have to say they've not be very helpful. I saw an item on the website, a clip for a mudguard but when I went in they wouldn't sell me one, I would have had to buy the complete mudguard set which seemed strange as the clip was in stock and sold separately according to their website. I suppose because it was late in the day just before closing time and it was too much of a pain. It was recommended to me that I use a tie wrap instead. Goes without say I just left it. Another downer for me is the price match they state they do. Don't believe it for a second. I've found a couple of price matches which they failed to match and they were genuine items from genuine shops. One I found they declined because they were different despite the product description, manufacturer and model number were exactly the same. The only difference was the spelling of the word Towball. The competitor spelled it Tow Ball. That was the only difference I could see but it was declined because their listing was different. Their small print does state it's at their discretion so don't expect it if you enquire about a price match. J E James is an "ok" shop but it's not one I would "highly" recommend to friends and family. Their bikes are good but the service has room for improvement. EDIT.....: I’m warming to this shop. Since I wrote my review I have been back a couple of times and been treated really well. I think my initial problem with the tone of staff is isolated and probably down to one member of staff. The people I have dealt with since have been really good. I just avoid dealing with one particular person. I took my bike in for its first safety check yesterday and was treated really well by friendly people who offered some great advice.
